Arsenal are reportedly “totally convinced” that Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Pedro Neto and Brentford’s Ivan Toney would make valuable additions to Mikel Arteta’s team.

According to transfer insider Dean Jones, the Gunners seized an “ideal” opportunity to advance their pursuit of the talented duo.

Despite making big signings last summer, with Declan Rice becoming the club record signing at £105 million, Arsenal sporting director Edu has hinted at another substantial budget for the 2024/25 campaign. Plans for potential recruits are already underway, indicating the club’s proactive approach to strengthening the squad.

Even with recent impressive victories in the Premier League, Arsenal are wasting no time in planning for the future.

Scouts from Arsenal were dispatched to observe Toney and Neto in action during the recent clash between Wolves and Brentford, as reported by HITC. Arteta, a long-time admirer of both players, is keen on assessing their performances closely.

Toney, who scored his third goal in four appearances since returning from his ban, is drawing interest from other clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Arsenal, however, seems determined to secure the striker, especially considering statistics that highlight his clinical finishing compared to Arsenal’s current first-choice striker, Gabriel Jesus.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Toney would be open to a move to the Emirates Stadium, providing Arsenal with an additional advantage in the pursuit of the Brentford marksman.

As for Neto, Wolves may be willing to part ways with the talented winger to generate funds for potential reinforcements. However, his price tag is set at a hefty £70 million, and Arsenal are not the only club vying for his signature.

Dean Jones expressed confidence in Arsenal’s pursuit, stating that the club is thoroughly convinced that either Neto or Toney, or both, could thrive at the Emirates Stadium.

When asked whether Arsenal scouted Neto and Toney last weekend, Jones told GIVEMESPORT:

“It was an ideal fixture for them to take in those two players. Both of them have been on the radar over the past year, and it was an opportunity to check exactly where each player is at this stage of the season.

“To be honest, I think it’s beyond the stage of gauging how good either player is. Arsenal are totally convinced that either of them or both of them could work well at the Emirates. There are not really any doubts around that.”
