Three Arsenal players are reportedly attracting interest from European clubs and in Saudi Arabia this January.

The trio of Cedric Soares, Mohamed Elneny, and Nuno Tavares has become the focal point of transfer discussions. Despite the Gunners’ intent to actively participate in the market this month, they find themselves in the position of needing to sell before making acquisitions, a strategic move aimed at ensuring adherence to Financial Fair Play rules.

Right-back Cedric, having started only one game this season and with six months remaining on his £175,000-a-week contract, has attracted interest from Turkish clubs Besiktas and Trabzonspor. Additionally, Spanish club Villarreal has been monitoring him since the summer.

Joining Arsenal from Southampton in 2020, Cedric has amassed 61 appearances in various competitions for Arteta’s side, but with the absence of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jurrien Timber due to injuries, his prospects for future game time seem grim.

Mohamed Elneny

Consequently, Arsenal are actively pursuing his departure in January to alleviate financial pressures, especially considering his contract’s expiration at the season’s end.

Elneny, with six months left on his contract, is a sought-after player by Trabzonspor and clubs in Saudi Arabia, namely Al-Shabab and Al Fateh. Although there is interest, these clubs may opt to wait until the summer when he could potentially be available for free.

Elneny, who has been working on his coaching badges, recently secured his UEFA B License. Following the footsteps of several Arsenal players inspired by Mikel Arteta, he is part of a group with aspirations to enter coaching.

Left-back Nuno, currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, has made only three appearances this season, the latest of which occurred in September. The loan arrangement may be terminated prematurely due to interest from European clubs.

Among Arsenal younger talents, several are drawing attention from teams seeking loan deals this month. Winger Amario Cozier-Duberry is a target for Championship and League One clubs, although a decision on his move is pending. On the other hand, Reuell Walters is actively courted but is anticipated to remain with the club throughout the month.
