‘Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will leave Lazio due to his ‘desire to try a new experience’, with his decision now ‘irreversible.’ Arsenal ‘remain the favourite destination’ of the player and they have ‘taken the most convincing steps’ in signing him.’

The Serbian midfielder is known for moments of brilliance like the silky back-heel assist shown in the video above. He also has great balance for a man with such a tall frame and is a very unique midfielder in terms of other midfielders in today’s game. Because of the uniqueness he possesses, it could sway the Gunners in making a formal offer the for Serbian midfielder and pay for his services.
The 27-year-old midfielder has a transfer value of €60m, which is less than Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo, who Arsenal have both recently been linked to. The in-form Serie A midfielder has played 19 games so far this season and has an amazing 12-goal contributions with four goals and eight assists.
Although the Spanish-born midfielder hasn’t got the Premier League experience like Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo, it doesn’t stop the fact that the experienced midfielder has endless amounts of talent and this is confirmed by the sum of his transfer value.
The Serbian’s contract runs out next summer on the 30th of June and is looking to get a move as soon as the upcoming summer transfer window opens.
It is also said that the midfielder would not wish to leave Lazio on a free transfer:
‘Milinkovic-Savic would rather not leave on a free in 2024, to not cause ‘heaving damage to Lazio’, but they will need to ‘set a fair price’. The €100m wanted in the past is now a ‘distant memory’ and even hopes of receiving €50-€60m this summer ‘are a mirage’. (Corriere Dello Sport)
Arsenal would face stiff competition with high-spending Chelsea, filthy-rich PSG and historic PSV Eindhoven to gain the Serbian’s signature, but due to Arsenal’s current position and the news breaking out about Manchester Cities breaches, a chance to be part of an amazing project is there for Milinkovic-Savic’s taking.
