Rumours abound as multiple Saudi Arabian clubs express interest in signing an Arsenal player, setting the stage for a bustling summer transfer window.

Under the management of Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar, Arsenal have undergone a remarkable transformation in squad building, reaping rewards on the field of play. Ahead of Manchester City’s match on Thursday, Arsenal enjoy a four-point cushion, hopeful that Brighton & Hove Albion can deliver a favourable result.

The signing of Declan Rice, whom Arsenal outmanoeuvred Manchester City to sign, has proven pivotal, as has the resurgence of Kai Havertz in recent months. Last summer’s transfer activity for Arsenal was hailed as immaculate, both in terms of incoming and outgoing players.

While Folarin Balogun’s departure stirred controversy, current sentiments among fans seldom reflect regret over the decision. However, speculation suggests that this summer could witness even more activity, with several peripheral players potentially seeking new opportunities.

The midfield appears to be the focal point of impending changes, with the future of Thomas Partey looming large in Arsenal’s plans. Reports indicate Arsenal’s attempts to offload Partey due to his recent injury struggles, despite his undeniable talent on the field. With Partey now drawing interest from Saudi Arabia, Arsenal may see an opportunity to reshape their midfield, potentially bidding farewell to Mohamed Elneny and Jorginho, both of whom are out of contract.

While Partey’s standout performance against Chelsea on Tuesday might sway some fans, doubts persist regarding his reliability over a full season. Arsenal could opt to pursue alternatives, with Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi emerging as a potential target.

Other midfield targets linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer are Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes, and Aston Villa man Douglas Luiz. There’s been so much chatter about Guimaraes in the last few days and it looks as if the player himself is open to a move away from Tyneside.
