Mikel Arteta is gearing up for a busy summer transfer window as he aims to reinforce his Arsenal squad and maintain their competitive edge at the top of the Premier League table and in Europe.

Despite already being in contention for the Premier League title for the second consecutive year, Arsenal management have recognized the need to further strengthen the squad to sustain their challenge for domestic and European glory.

With an eye on bolstering the attacking options, Arsenal recruitment team, led by Edu and Arteta, are reportedly considering potential signings to complement the existing talent. Wingers are on the radar to alleviate pressure on key players like Bukayo Saka, while a prolific striker is also a priority.

One name prominently linked with the Gunners is Newcastle United star Alexander Isak. The Swedish international has been making waves at St James’ Park, drawing admiration from pundits and fans alike for his pace, skill, and lethal finishing ability.

Speaking on talkSPORT, pundit Tony Cascarino hailed Isak as one of the best forwards in the game, emphasising his threat in front of goal and versatility in one-on-one situations.

“He is a dangerous striker, he has got a lot of ability, he is quick, he is a very good finisher, especially in one-on-ones. He is one of the best out there.”

However, securing Isak’s signature won’t be straightforward. Despite Arsenal’s interest, Newcastle seem intent on retaining their prized asset, with reports suggesting they are preparing a lucrative contract extension to fend off potential suitors.

Nevertheless, Arsenal remain undeterred, with speculation swirling that they could table a significant offer to tempt both Isak and Newcastle. With the Gunners eyeing a long-term investment in the talented striker, they could be ready to make a compelling case for his services in the coming months.
