Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior has expressed his satisfaction with being linked to potential transfers this January, shedding light on his contentment with the interest while maintaining focus on his current club.

The Polish international, who joined the Gunners from Spezia last year, has established himself as a reliable squad player, though he faces stiff competition for a regular starting spot.

Amid competition from defensive stalwarts William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes in the center-back position, Kiwior has also demonstrated versatility by playing as a left-back, where he contends with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

While acknowledging the challenges, Kiwior appears in no rush for a new challenge, emphasising his current commitment to Arsenal.

“It’s definitely nice, and I’m glad there’s interest in me,” Kiwior stated in an interview with Super Express. “But I focus on what is now. Besides, there have been no talks with me yet.” Despite the apparent allure of potential transfers, the defender seems patient and committed to his current club.

He added: “I’m glad I saw how such a big club operates. And that I get opportunities from the coach. I definitely strive to have even more of them.”

Kiwior’s reflections on his time at Arsenal provide insight into his football development and personal life changes. He shared, “In a football context, I can say that training is at a higher level. I managed to score a goal in the Premier League, make my debut in the Champions League, and establish myself in the national team. And when it comes to personal changes, the most important thing this year was getting married!”

While Arsenal may benefit from retaining Kiwior as a versatile squad player, the delicate balance between accommodating his aspirations for more playing time and the club’s needs remains uncertain.
