It seems that Declan Rice moving to Arsenal from West Ham United is not the only piece of business that the two clubs will be doing together.
That’s because iNews are reporting that West Ham are interested in signing Arsenal left back Nuno Tavares in a £8m move this summer.
Tavares has fallen down the pecking order since the arrivals of Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko and spent last season on loan in France with Marseille.
A permanent exit is likely what both the club and the player are looking for and West Ham are in the market for a left back to provide some competition for Aaron Cresswell. Marseille had looked into turning his loan move into a more permanent one, but without the clause being inserted in the original loan agreement Tavares has since returned to London.
The publication states that Tavares is keen to stay in London and therefore the move has been mooted. According to the report, Tavares has attracted interest from a number of other English Premier League sides also as well as Galatasaray in Turkey. West Ham manager David Moyes is reportedly keen on bringing the player to London Stadium.
Tavares is currently on international duty with the Portugal under 21s in the UEFA Euros Under-21 tournament. The Portuguese player has two years left on his contract at Arsenal but it seems that this may be the final year that he spends with Mikel Arteta’s squad.
