Arsenal winger Marquinhos is rumored to be considering a move to Nottingham Forest this summer, following in the footsteps of his teammate Matt Turner.

The Brazilian arrived at Arsenal just last year, but the potential opportunity at Nottingham Forest seems to have caught his eye.

Matt Turner joined Arsenal from MLS side New England Revolution, and Marquinhos was signed from Sao Paulo during the previous summer transfer window. While Turner managed seven appearances in various cup competitions last season, he is yet to make his Premier League debut.

On the other hand, Marquinhos featured in just six matches, with only one of those appearances in the league, before being loaned out to Norwich City for the second half of the campaign.

Recently, Nottingham Forest expressed their interest in signing Turner, and now, reports suggest they have set their sights on Marquinhos as well. The young winger has also attracted interest from Ligue 1 side Nantes.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Marquinhos has two concrete options on the table. One option is a loan move to Nantes in France for the upcoming season, while Nottingham Forest could pursue a permanent deal for the Brazilian.

If Marquinhos joins Nottingham Forest, it is rumoured the club may likely send him on loan to sister club Olympiacos next season. The Greek side is also owned by Nottingham Forest’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis.

Currently under contract with Arsenal until 2027, the Gunners are carefully considering the best course of action for Marquinhos. While selling him could be an option, it seems premature to give up on the young talent just yet, making another loan move a more reasonable solution.

It remains to be seen if Nottingham Forest can agree on a transfer fee with Arsenal to secure Marquinhos’ services. The club is keen on further developing the player’s English football experience, reminiscent of their decision to loan him to Norwich City in January last year.
