Arsenal’s record signing Nicolas Pépé is currently playing on loan at Ligue One side OGC Nice & has spoke about his future beyond this season in a recent interview.
When Arsenal signed the Ivorian in 2019, for a club-record fee of €79 million, everyone expected that he would be crucial player for The Gunners for years to come, however unfortunately that hasn’t been the case.
Pépé spent three years at Arsenal, scoring 27 goals in 112 appearances, before joining OGC Nice on loan at the beginning of the season.
It looks like he found he’s finding his form back in France, as he is one of the best players at his new club, with an average rating of 7.18, according to FotMob.

In an interview Nicolas Pépé admitted that he is happy in Nice but says that he thinks he could have been a valuable asset to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side this season, and that he is not sure where his future lies beyond this season.
Nicolas Pepe on his future:
“I’m very happy at Nice, there are still two important months for the club. I want to focus on the last two months and the rest, I don’t know. There will be discussions. I don’t know what Arsenal want to do.”
He also stated that he still very closely follows Arsenal and is spending time in order to improve himself by saying:
“I still have a lot of friends there. I could have been important for this club, but it’s the manager’s choices. I spent my time taking good care of myself and working. Today, yes, I am at 100% of my means even if it will take me a little time to find the pace.”
Despite coming as a big superstar, he hasn’t lived up to the expectations and it’s unlikely he’ll be a part of Mikel Arteta’s plans at Arsenal come next season. It’s expected the 27-year-old will be sold in the summer.
