According to today’s edition of Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Italian giants and city rivals Inter Milan and AC Milan are both tracking Arsenal frontman Folarin Balogun. Balogun is currently on loan at French side Stade Reims and has got 10 goals and two assists in 16 league games in Ligue 1 this season, making him one of the in-form strikers in the league.

Still only 21 years old, Balogun joined the Arsenal academy signing his first professional contract with the club in 2019. He subsequently spent some time on loan in the Championship with Middlesbrough, a spell that only returned 3 goals in 18 appearances, but it’s in France that he’s really hit his stride.

The paper reports that Inter have their sights set on him for a permanent move in the summer but so do Milan. It is believed that he could cost around €40 million but that could rise if his form continues.

And there’s always a chance that Mikel Arteta will find some space for him in the Arsenal first team squad next season too. Every team needs a deadly number 9 and there’s not too many of them around. Arsenal might already have one within their midst but whether they can convince him to stay against leaving for Italy is another matter altogether.
