“If that’s their will? You cannot [stop them]. I wouldn’t, no,” Arteta stated, according to The Mirror.
Arteta himself experienced a similar situation when Arsenal offered him the managerial role in 2019.

Having transitioned directly from playing at Arsenal to becoming Pep Guardiola’s trusted assistant at Manchester City, he understands the desire for career advancement.

“We all need opportunities. I got an opportunity when I didn’t have any experience in coaching, first of all at Man City and then here, and I’m very grateful for that,” Arteta remarked.

Cuesta’s potential departure would undoubtedly be a significant loss for Arsenal. However, Arteta is well-aware of how important it is to provide opportunities for growth and development within the coaching staff, acknowledging that curiosity and exploration are essential qualities for young professionals in the managerial field.

With discussions about the potential departure of Carlos Cuesta on hold until the end of the season, Mikel Arteta will hope to get the best of his coaching team as the Gunners chase for silverware in the Premier League and Champions League.
