Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is riding high on the success of his team, but behind the scenes, plans for a summer overhaul may be underway as the club looks to reinforce its squad for the future.

Following a relatively quiet January transfer window, where the team seemed to be gearing up for potential summer spending, Arteta’s side has seen notable additions such as Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber, whose impact has been increasingly evident with each game.

Although Timber has been sidelined due to injury, his potential as a transformative player for Arteta was evident during pre-season, making his absence a disappointment for the manager.

Looking ahead to the summer transfer window, Arteta is reportedly keen on bolstering Arsenal’s defense, midfield, and striking options. However, with an already bloated squad, departures will likely be necessary to make room for new signings and generate funds.

Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah

Among the players who could be on their way out is Eddie Nketiah, who Arsenal valued at around £35 million in January. Despite being a fan favourite and a product of Arsenal’s Hale End academy, Nketiah’s opportunities have been limited, particularly with recent successes of players like Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz in unfamiliar roles.

With Arsenal eyeing potential signings like Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney to lead the line, Nketiah’s chances of regular playing time seem increasingly slim, especially considering his the current form of Havertz and Trossard in the role and Gabriel Jesus the preferred choice for the role.

While it may be disappointing for Nketiah and Arsenal fans alike, a move away from the Emirates Stadium could be in the best interest of all parties involved, providing the striker with the opportunity to flourish elsewhere in the Premier League.
