With the January transfer window just around the corner, Arsenal are getting their plans together to make a couple new signings ahead of the second half of the season. The club has a limited amount of funds and in order to make a big signing in January, the Gunners will have to make a significant sale first.

According to Football Transfers, Arsenal are now willing to listen to offers for striker, Eddie Nketiah, as they look to raise funds in the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old England international achieved his first cap for his country earlier this season and he also scored his first Premier League hat-trick for Arsenal last month against Sheffield United at the Emirates stadium.

Nketiah has had a decent start to the 2023/24 campaign, but that hasn’t stopped Mikel Arteta wanting to upgrade his attacking options for the second half of the season. The Gunners currently sit top of the Premier League table after 14 games played, and if they want to go one better than last season, then bringing in a big signing in January could make the difference.

The Gunners are apparently keen on landing a new striker next month but are also on a fine line when it comes to FFP and could look to sell a first-team player to help balance the books.

Eddie Nketiah won’t have a lack of interest as the likes of Fulham, Brentford and West Ham were all interested in the striker last summer. The 24-year-old has made 14 appearances in the Premier League this season, however mostly off the bench.

The consensus is that Eddie Nketiah would do well at a mid-table Premier League club, however there are still doubts over whether he’s good enough to lead the line for a club like Arsenal who are trying to win their first league title in over 20 years. So it’s no surprise Mikel Arteta is looking to upgrade his options in January.

Arsenal won’t let the player leave on the cheap, with the club currently valuing Eddie Nketiah at around £40million. Given he is English and a home grown player, the Gunners will likely be able to command a big fee for the England international.

The Gunners have been linked with many strikers over the last few weeks, with the likes of Ivan Toney and Dusan Vlahovic on the club’s shortlist ahead of the winter window.
