With the January transfer window just over a month away, Arsenal are already getting their plans together for the players they want to target, but also the few players who could leave the club in two months time.
There are many players who won’t be allowed to leave the club in January, despite interest from elsewhere, however according to recent reports, Thomas Partey isn’t one them.
Mikel Arteta is willing to let Thomas Partey leave in January for the right price, with the club also keen on replacing him for the second half of the 2023/24 campaign. The Gunners have been linked to many midfield options over the past week, including Douglas Luiz and Ruben Neves.
For Thomas Partey, it’s been a difficult start to the season for the midfielder. He’s already suffered two different injuries with the later expected to keep him on the sidelines until the new year. With AFCON in January, the Ghanian midfielder may have already played his last game for the Gunners, if he does end up leaving the club during the winter window.

Although Mikel Arteta is willing to let Partey leave in January, it will only be for the right price with the club currently valuing the Ghanian at around £40million.
As previously reported, Juventus have been monitoring Thomas Partey for a while, however it’s unlikely the Italian club will be able to afford the player in January. A loan with option to buy is more likely, if he is to leave for Italy in two months time.
The more attractive deal for Arsenal would be if Thomas Partey ended up playing in Saudi Arabia. Al-Ettifaq and Al-Ahli are said to be planning a move for the midfielder and there’s no doubt they’ll both be able to afford the £40m price tag. However it would depend on whether the player would be up for a move to the Middle East in January.
There’s still a long way to go in this transfer saga ahead of the January transfer window, but with Mikel Arteta now willing to let the player leave, Thomas Partey might have already played his last game in an Arsenal shirt.
