Maurizio Sarri has made one Arsenal midfielder his priority signing for Lazio this summer.
According to reports in Italy, Maurizio Sarri wants to bring Arsenal midfielder, Jorginho back to Italy on a permanent basis ahead of next season. The two previously worked together at Chelsea during Sarri’s time in the Premier League and he now wants to be reunited with the Italian at Lazio this summer.
Jorginho joined the Gunners from Chelsea only a few months ago, during the January transfer window. The Italian made 16 appearances for Mikel Arteta’s side throughout the 2022/23 campaign, most notably scoring the winner against Aston Villa in the last minute back in February. The 31-year-old has certainly made his mark in North London already, despite the short time he’s been around.

Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of the player, however he won’t stand in Jorginho’s way if he wants to go back to Italy this summer. Arsenal aren’t actively looking to sell the 31-year-old, however the club are willing to listen to offers and won’t stand in the players’ way should he want to leave the club.
Lazio aren’t the only club interested in signing the Italian this summer, with AC Milan and Napoli also thought to have enquired about Jorginho’s availability.
Jorginho moved to the Emirates Stadium in January for a fee of around £9million and it’s expected Arsenal would look to at least recoup that fee if the player is to move on ahead of next season. Ideally Arsenal will demand a fee of around £15million for the Italian.
It’s well known the Gunners want to bring in two new central midfielders this summer, with Declan Rice the top target, however if Jorginho is to leave North London over the next month or so, then Arsenal could even look to bring in another midfielder on top of the two already wanted ahead of next season.
