Arsenal has been spending heavily in recent transfer windows, and it appears that they will continue this trend into the summer, especially after a relatively quiet winter. Gunners legend, Gilberto Silva has recently suggested one player he thinks his former club should sign ahead of next season.

Rather than making a big splash in January, Arsenal maintained composure. However, they now have the opportunity to strengthen their squad during the upcoming summer transfer window.

In addition to possibly adding a new striker to enhance the starting lineup, Arsenal may also be considering a midfielder. With players like Jorginho and Thomas Partey facing uncertain futures, reinforcements in midfield could be on the agenda.

One Arsenal legend, Gilberto Silva, has expressed his belief that Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz would be a fantastic addition to the current Gunners squad.

Speaking to Shots TV, Gilberto praised his fellow countryman for his progress and adaptation to Premier League football, suggesting that a move to Arsenal next season would benefit both Luiz and the club.

“Douglas Luiz is 25 years old and would likely command a hefty price tag of around £100m, but his addition would significantly strengthen Arsenal’s midfield.

Luiz has impressed this season at Aston Villa, playing a pivotal role in their pursuit of a top-four spot in the Premier League.

If Arsenal can secure Luiz’s signature, it could provide them with a formidable midfield for years to come.

Manager Mikel Arteta will be hoping that the Arsenal board is willing to invest in such a talent, similar to their acquisition of Declan Rice last summer, who joined for a record fee from West Ham United.
