Declan Rice is regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and it’s been reported the England international is set to leave the Hammers at the end of the season.
The Blues are deemed favourites to sign him as he was previously in their academy, but a former Premier League star believes the 23-year-old should move to the Gunners instead this summer.
Former Arsenal & Chelsea player Emmanuel Petit has urged West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice to choose Arsenal over Chelsea this summer.
Emmanuel Petit: “I know that Chelsea wants him, but if I were Declan Rice, I wouldn’t go to Chelsea, I would go to Arsenal. The two clubs are going in different directions and the way Arsenal is playing. He would be the perfect option for Arsenal.”
Meanwhile, Petit also praised Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard by comparing him to Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne & how he has similar traits to that of an Arsenal legend…
Emmanuel Petit: “For me, actually, I would say Odegaard has the same impact as Kevin De Bruyne at Manchester City. Every time Odegaard is playing well on the pitch, most of the time Arsenal wins the game. He reminds me of how Dennis Bergkamp was acting on the pitch. You don’t hear him much, but he leads by example, the way he plays, the way he never gave up on the pitch.”
Arsenal sit top of the Premier League & their former player, Emmanuel Petit has been hugely impressed with the Gunners so far this season.
