Premier League side Everton appears to be edging closer to securing the signature of a promising forward from Arsenal who is expected to be released at the end of the current season.

The destination of Everton next season remains uncertain, amid fluctuating division prospects, but the imperative for transfer bargains remains undeterred regardless of their league status.

According to Football Insider, Everton have been swayed by the impressive performances of 18-year-old forward Omari Benjamin during his trial at Goodison Park. Despite being on Arsenal’s roster, Benjamin underwent trials at Everton earlier this year and was reportedly impressive.

A Welsh youth international adept at operating both as a striker and on the left wing, Benjamin showcased his talent by finding the net for Everton’s Under-21s in the Premier League 2 fixture on March 2.

Sources suggest that Everton’s hierarchy have been sufficiently convinced of Benjamin’s potential, warranting a long-term deal.

Further reports indicate that Everton are poised to capitalise on the opportunity to secure Benjamin’s services, with Arsenal prepared to release the young forward by the end of the ongoing season. The Merseyside club are reportedly preparing a contract offer for the teenage prodigy, although rival interest from other Premier League clubs are beginning to emerge.

Nevertheless, Everton’s strong position in negotiations with Benjamin is underscored by the fact that the player has already undergone a trial period with the club. Sources believe Everton are confident in Benjamin’s ability to ascend to Premier League stardom in the coming years.

Should Everton succeed in securing Benjamin’s signature, it would mark a significant coup for manager Sean Dyche, particularly amid the club’s well-documented financial constraints.

However, to balance the financial books, Everton may need to consider offloading some of their prized assets, irrespective of their relegation fate. Centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite has reportedly emerged as a primary target for Arsenal with competition from Manchester United and Manchester City. Additionally, midfielder Amadou Onana has attracted interest from clubs including Arsenal and Barcelona.
