Fabrizio Romano broke the news earlier today that Arsenal have agreed a £12m deal with Chelsea for the transfer of Italian midfielder Jorginho – with his famous “here we go” quote marking this as a done deal.
The Italian midfielder has signed his Arsenal contract until 2024 with an option of a further year until 2025.
A key factor in Jorginho’s decision to join Arsenal is the manager, Mikel Arteta.

Chelsea have been busy in this January transfer window, with news linking them to both Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez as well as Brighton’s Moises Caicedo. With those two players potentially incoming, it was likely that Jorginho’s playing time would be decreased further.
Arsenal have spent the January transfer window also looking for midfield reinforcements to cover the likes of Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey, with the Gunners also linked to Caicedo with news that a number of bids have been rejected by the south coast side.
However, it finally looks as if there will be at least one new midfield signing for the team and it’ll be a relatively short journey across the capital for Chelsea’s Jorginho.
The announcement from Arsenal is imminent with Jorginho having been seen undergoing his media duties ahead of officially becoming an Arsenal player.
