Crystal Palace are reportedly eyeing two Arsenal players as part of their summer recruitment drive, with the Gunners poised to offload several fringe players to bolster their finances.

Despite an impressive season for Arsenal, manager Mikel Arteta is eager to keep the squad dynamic evolving, and the summer transfer window presents an opportunity to streamline the roster and address Financial Fair Play (FFP) concerns.

Among the players potentially on the chopping block, striker Eddie Nketiah is expected to generate interest from multiple clubs, with Crystal Palace expressing keen interest in securing his services. However, Palace’s ambitions extend beyond Nketiah, with manager Oliver Glasner also eyeing Arsenal’s midfield talent pool.

According to a report from Football Transfers, Palace is considering a move for Gunners midfielder Reiss Nelson. The 24-year-old has endured another season on the fringes at Arsenal, prompting speculation of a potential summer departure in search of regular first-team football.

Arsenal are rumoured to demand around £30 million for Nelson’s services, providing a significant financial boost to the Gunners’ coffers if the deal materialises.

Palace’s interest in Nelson coincides with their pursuit of new signings, with the potential departures of Michael Olise and Ebere Eze looming this summer. The funds generated from Nelson’s sale, along with those from Nketiah’s potential transfer, would grant Arsenal a financial cushion of £60 million to address FFP obligations and pursue new recruits.

For Nelson, a move to Palace could represent an ideal opportunity to revitalise his career. With Glasner’s arrival signalling a shift in the club’s direction, Nelson would have the chance to establish himself as a regular Premier League starter, showcasing his talents and proving his worth to Arsenal.

As Nelson approaches the age of 24 with another season of limited game time, many pundits believe that the time has come for him to seek greener pastures away from The Emirates. A move to Palace could offer Nelson the platform he needs to reignite his career and demonstrate his potential on the Premier League stage.

While any potential deal must align with the interests of all parties involved, Nelson’s departure from Arsenal seems increasingly likely as Arteta seeks further squad reinforcements, and Palace emerges as an attractive destination on the rise.
