Chelsea are reportedly eyeing Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale as a potential signing for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Ramsdale, who joined Arsenal in a £25 million deal in 2021, has seen his starting position usurped by David Raya this season, leading to speculation about his future at the club.

While Ramsdale has not publicly expressed his desire to leave Arsenal, sources suggest he is open to a new challenge, either through a permanent move or a loan deal. At just 25 years old and with homegrown status, Ramsdale is seen as a promising prospect for Chelsea, who are in search of goalkeeping reinforcements.

Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson voiced his support for Ramsdale’s potential move to Chelsea, citing his ability and hunger for success. Robinson also suggested that neither of Chelsea’s current goalkeepers, Sanchez nor Petrovic, are at the same level as Ramsdale, making him an attractive option for the Blues.

Speaking to Football Insider, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson said: “Ramsdale deserves to be playing football,” Robinson told Football Insider. “I think he would be a great fit at Chelsea. The Chelsea fans would love him there. He could play for any of the top sides in the country.

“Neither Sanchez nor Petrovic are good enough to take them to the next level, neither are at the same level as Ramsdale. Whoever gets him will have a goalkeeper who is hungry and can prove he is capable of playing for England again.”

In addition to Ramsdale, Chelsea are also keeping tabs on Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. Despite Pickford’s commitment to Everton, sources indicate that he has contemplated a move to a club competing at a higher level. Chelsea, who are in the market for a new goalkeeper, could target Pickford if he becomes available.

Everton, facing financial pressure and uncertainty surrounding their ownership situation, may be forced to sell key players this summer. Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana are among the players attracting interest from top clubs, with Everton potentially valuing Branthwaite at over £70 million.
