With news reports emerging that Arsenal are looking to tie up the signing of Declan Rice, Gunners fans expecting to see another English Premier League star signed are set to be disappointed.
That’s because long linked Moises Caicedo, who Arsenal saw a bid rejected for in January, is now being chased by London rivals Chelsea. FootballTransfers are reporting that Chelsea are pushing very hard to sign the player and it seems that they’re willing to outspend Mikel Arteta’s side to get a deal done.
For those who remember that far back, Arsenal offered Brighton & Hove Albion £70m for Caicedo, only to see their bids knocked back. It seemed as if Brighton were not interested in selling the player in mid-season. However, after Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi said that both Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister could leave the club in the summer, many assumed Arsenal would return with the same offer and get their man this time around.

That was before Chelsea entered the picture. Not content with grabbing Myhaylo Mudryk out of Arsenal’s clutches in January, Chelsea are looking to repeat the trick with Caicedo. FootballTransfers report that Arsenal are concerned that the Stamford Bridge side will look to persuade Caicedo to sign for them by offering him more money. It is thought that this could be a decisive factor in the player’s thinking between the two London clubs.
Additionally, Caicedo’s agent is reportedly seeking more money from the deal, with Chelsea looking likelier to match these demands than Arsenal. Therefore it’s believed that the player’s agent is now pushing for the midfielder to pick Chelsea as his future club ahead of the Gunners.
Could this be a case of deja vu for Arteta and Edu in their pursuit for midfield reinforcements? Let’s hope not as the only thing worse than missing out on a signing is missing out to a rival!

Let Chelsea repeat their immorality by flashing the cash to players and selfish agents. But karma will show itself again as it deed to mudryk. Watch this place.
