Mikel Arteta has been crucial in the deal to convince Declan Rice to join Arsenal over Manchester City. The Arsenal boss begun talks with the player six months ago with the 24-year-old his number one target ahead of next season. The Arsenal boss has got what he wanted, thanks to Edu, Josh Kroenke and everyone else at Arsenal who has done an incredible job to get this deal over the line.
Arsenal weren’t willing to let Granit Xhaka leave until they brought in a replacement, with their number one target being the West Ham captain. The Swiss midfielder is now on the verge of leaving the club after Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen agreed a fee of £21.5million deal for the 30-year-old.
Arsenal are also in advanced negotiations to sign Jurrien Timber from Ajax in a deal worth around £40million. A move for the Dutch international is also expected to be finalised this week with Mikel Arteta wanting both players in before the club begin their pre-season tour in mid-July.
