Following Arsenal’s 0-0 Premier League draw with Newcastle United last night, there have been calls for attacking reinforcements from pundits all the way to Gunners fans. And this morning, there is a great deal more news related to Arsenal’s pursuit of Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The first comes from journalist Ben Jacobs. Replying to a question on Twitter about Chelsea’s chances of signing Mudryk, Jacobs says that Arsenal are in control of the situation and Chelsea are yet to made a bid for the Ukrainian winger. He further elaborates that Chelsea’s only hope is that they both pay the full fee upfront and also that Arsenal walk away from the deal.
Arsenal in control of situation because Mudryk wants the move and #CFC yet to even place an offer. The only way Chelsea will succeed is (if they choose to proceed) is by satisfying Shakhtar’s desire for a big fee upfront and hoping #AFC walk away.

With Arsenal having had invested so much time into their pursuit of Mudryk, it’s highly unlikely that they’ll just walk away and allow a Premier League rival an open run at the player.
Building on that, the Daily Mail have reported that Mudryk told people on his December holiday in Dubai that he reported to join Mikel Arteta’s side in the transfer window. Interestingly enough, Arsenal were also in Dubai at the time competing in the Dubai Super Cup – make out of that what you will…
This is on top of the news a couple of days ago when it was reported that the Gunners were stepping up their pursuit of Mudryk, with personal terms already agreed with the player and the only thing outstanding are the negotiations between the clubs on price and payment structure.
Following on from last night’s performance, the news this morning will be music to the ears of Arsenal fans who are desperate for the club to reinforce their attacking resources in a push for the Premier League title.
