Arsenal may have done their transfer business early this summer with the arrival of Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice and David Raya, but the Gunners are still keeping tabs with players who may be available elsewhere. One of such player is Barcelona star Ansu Fati.

Fati is a franchise player at Barcelona, wearing the iconic No 10 jersey left behind by Lionel Messi. But he has struggled for game time under Xavi Hernandez and looks to start the season from the bench for the La Liga champions.

Ansu Fati has now decided to leave FC Barcelona this summer as he believes it is the best decision for his career. Arsenal recently enquired about the player and are expected to return now the player wants to leave Spain.

The Spanish international has a release clause of €1bn when he signed a six-year contract extension in 2021. Despite this clause which is unrealistic, Barcelona are facing a financial crisis and need to sell players in order to register some of the players they’ve brought in this summer.

It is reported that the Blaugrana will entertain offers for any of their forward players. Ferran Torres who was linked to Arsenal earlier in the window is the only player to have attracted interest from Aston Villa, but the Villains only want to take him on loan.

There were also reports from Saudi Arabia for Brazilian winger Raphinha, but the player refused to negotiate. While Osmane Dembele has joined PSG for €45 million, Robert Lewandowski has not attracted interest from any other club, thus leaving Barcelona with no option than to sell their academy graduate.

According to reports in Spain, Barcelona are expecting offers above €50 million for Ansu Fati this summer, and Arsenal are one of the teams keeping an eye for the availability of the player late in the transfer window.

Arsenal are signing quality players to compete for places with current stars, and Ansu Fati will suit the style of play Mikel Arteta is establishing at the Emirates Stadium.

The young forward can provide cover/competition across the front line and may also become a valuable asset in the right of Arsenal’s attack with Mikel Arteta looking to give Bukayo Saka some breather whenever the fixture permits.

This is one transfer to keep an eye on.
