Barcelona are reportedly gearing up for a sensational transfer move to sign Arsenal talented winger, Gabriel Martinelli. The 22-year-old Brazilian, who joined the Emirates in 2019, has overcome injury setbacks this season and is back to full fitness, and has caught the eye of the Catalan giants.

While recent reports have indicated Barcelona’s focus on bolstering their midfield for the upcoming season, the club is also actively seeking reinforcements in the winger position.

The Blaugrana are prepared to let go of another Brazilian winger Raphinha and reportedly received offers for his departure ahead of a summer which the club is expected to clear out some names and bring in quality to challenge again for the Spanish La Liga title.

Mundo Deportivo has linked several names to Barcelona’s winger pursuit, including Liverpool star Mohamed Salal, Karou Mitoma from Brighton and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli. However, Gabriel Martinelli stands out as one of the most compelling options, given his impressive track record in the Premier League with Arsenal and at a very young age.

Valued at €85 million by Transfermarkt, Martinelli’s acquisition would require a significant financial commitment from Barcelona. Moreover, with his contract at Arsenal running until 2027, negotiations for his transfer are likely to be challenging.

Nevertheless, the Brazilian’s goal-scoring ability and youthfulness make him an attractive prospect for a Barcelona squad aiming to blend experience with emerging talent in their next sporting project.

Despite the cost implications expected to come with such a transfer, Barcelona reportedly sees him as a valuable addition to their squad. The winger has already netted seven goals this season and reached the 15-goal mark in the previous campaign, which is what other wingers are lacking at Barcelona at the moment.

With both Barcelona and Arsenal contending for the Champions League title, the two clubs could face each other in the upcoming rounds if they successfully beat their respective opponents in the first knockout round.
