Barcelona are set to have a clear out this summer and in the process they have offered one of their most promising talents to Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.

Arsenal’s goal this summer is to add quality in depth to the squad that came so close to winning the Premier League title this season, especially with the club qualifying for the  Champions League for the first time in seven years.

Mikel Arteta wants to get some big names through the door ahead of next season and who better than a player from the Spanish giants.

Barcelona looks to offload youngster Ansu Fati after development for the youngster has stalled. The 20-year-old winger came out of the La Masia Academy for Barcelona and was handed the number 10 previously worn by Lionel Messi because of how highly rated Fati was.

Fati came in with high hope in La Liga; however, consistent injuries have hurt Fati’s development to grow as a player. Manager Xavi has struggled to find a spot for Ansu Fati this season with the player only making 11 starts in the league across 2022/23.

Reports from Fichajes suggest that Fati is prepared to leave Barcelona this summer in hope for a new challenge, and links have been found, particularly with Arsenal. Some reports even suggest Barcelona have offered the London side first call on Ansu Fati with Mikel Arteta a big fan of the player.

One priority this summer is bringing a new winger who can provide depth for Bukayo Saka, with the English star playing in every Premier League game for Arsenal this season. The lack of options for Arteta left Saka and Martinelli both starting week in, week out in the Premier League and Europa League which isn’t ideal, especially with Champions League football next season.

Arsenal have a good track record of developing young talent into quality players, and Fati will definitely get opportunities to play at Arsenal if he is to make the move this summer. A move to the Gunners could be the next ideal step in Fati’s career.

As well as a winger, Arsenal’s other priority is the central midfield area with an initial offer expected to be made for Declan Rice after the Europa Conference League final.
