Recent reports indicate that Aston Villa have outpaced both Arsenal and Manchester City in the pursuit of one of their transfer targets, exciting young defender Ferdi Kadioglu.

It’s been revealed that Unai Emery and NSWE have opted to match the £25 million asking price, securing their position ahead in the race for the promising talent.

Despite a recent stumble, Aston Villa are looking ahead to Champions League aspirations. Their remarkable campaign thus far has been marked by success, with the final stretch of the season looming. However, Emery’s side has experienced a dip in form in the Premier League, facing tough upcoming matches against LOSC Lille in the UEFA Conference League quarter-finals.

With only one win in their last five Premier League fixtures, Aston Villa have slipped to fifth place, trailing behind Tottenham. However, their Champions League qualification seems secure, with Manchester United trailing by a significant 11-point margin. The club’s focus now turns to bolstering their squad for the upcoming season, particularly with seven players currently sidelined due to injury.

In light of this, Aston Villa appears to be making moves early in the transfer market. Reports suggest that they have made significant progress in securing Ferdi Kadioglu from Fenerbahçe. Despite previous interest from Arsenal and Manchester City, the Turkish full-back seems destined for Villa Park, with a deal reportedly agreed upon by both parties.

According to Turkish outlet Aksam, Kadioglu has already bid farewell to Fenerbahçe in anticipation of his move to Aston Villa. The transfer, expected to be finalised in the summer, will see Villa paying the requested fee of 30 million euros, making Kadioglu the joint-record sale in Super Lig history.

Dubbed a “future superstar” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, Kadioglu’s potential has already begun to materialise. The versatile 24-year-old, capable of playing on either side of defence, has been instrumental for Fenerbahçe this season, contributing to their title challenge in Turkey.
