According to the Guardian, Declan Rice’s main desire is to play Champions league football next season. His departure from West Ham has been described an inevitable. He will 100% leave the Hammers come the end of the season.

Although Chelsea inquired about Rice last summer, there are doubts over whether they are quite as fixated on him now, after the signing of Enzo Fernandez. Also with Manchester United signing Casemiro, it’s looking increasingly likely Arsenal will have a free run at the player come the summer with Mikel Arteta desperate to add him to his squad.

The English midfielder has already been looking into Mikel Arteta’s project at Arsenal to decide if it the right step to take in his career. As previously reported, according to journalist and former Arsenal player Adrian Clarke, the player has been talking about a move this summer transfer window…

“I can’t reveal my source, but I do know that Declan Rice has been sounding out people connected with Arsenal in regards to, ‘What’s it like there? What’s it really like?’ That sounds like a positive.”

Declan Rice will want big wages but he will also look at the overall project. With Arsenal currently sitting top of the Premier League table, it’s definitely a project Declan Rice is looking at and Jacob Steinberg says the player would love to play under Mikel Arteta. Chelsea are clearly less stable as the sit around mid-table with their Champions League hopes getting less likely by the week.

It’s clear Declan Rice will move on in the summer & his next club will be a big one in his career. He has to make sure he makes the correct decision and right now the correct decision looks to be the club in North London.
