Arsenal have recalled right back, Brooke Norton-Cuffy from his loan spell at Rotherham United and the 18-year-old has joined Coventry City on loan for the remainder of the season.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy made 20 appearances for Rotherham throughout the first half of the 2022/23 season where he picked up two assists.

The young defender played 1,361 minutes in total for Rotherham which is exactly what Arsenal would have wanted when they loaned him out at the beginning of the season. To play that many minutes in a league like the Championship at his young age will go a long way & only help him in fulfilling his potential.

Coventry currently sit 14th in the Championship, where as Rotherham are currently 21st, one place above the relegation zone, so you could say it’s a little step up for the u19 England international.

Rotherham isn’t the only loan spell Brooke Norton-Cuffy has had. He’s also been on loan to League One side Lincoln City during the 2021/22 season. At just 17-years-old he played 17 games in the third tier of English football, accumulated 1202′ minutes, scored one goal & got one assist.

In total, Norton-Cuffy has played 37 games & accumulated 2563′ during his loan spells in League One & the Championship. I’m pretty sure not many players at his age can say the same.

Two Arsenal regulars in Ben White & Aaron Ramsadale had a similar trajectory through the English pyramid and they’re now two key components of the Arsenal side that currently sit top of the Premier league table.

I guess Mikel Arteta will be hoping Brooke Norton-Cuffy follows a similar path, with the loan spell to Coventry being the next step in his career.
