Tottenham have announced the shock signing of Japanese international Mana Iwabuchi from North London rivals Arsenal.
Mana Iwabuchi was expected to leave The Gunners this month, despite only being at the club for 18 months, but no one expected her next club to be the one down the road.
The Japanese midfielder joined the Gunners from Aston Villa in the summer of 2021, but has seen her minutes severely limited this term, starting just one match all season – a Champions League group stage clash with Zurich.
Mana Iwabuchi on joining Tottenham on loan:
“I’m very excited. Rehanne [Skinner] told me about our ambitions so I’m very excited to join our journey. Someone said to me I’m an intelligent player – I bring my intelligence on the pitch for the team. I try to contribute. Now I’m a Spurs player so I try to do my best so please support me and please support Tottenham!”
The 29-year-old will wear the number 20 shirt for Spurs.
🤝 @buchi_mana joins us on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 season!
