Arsenal are reportedly considering the sale of Gabriel Jesus this summer as manager Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his attacking options.

The 27-year-old Brazilian striker has faced a challenging second season at the Emirates Stadium, marred by injuries that have sidelined him for a total of 16 games, in addition to 15 absences last season. With only eight goals in 33 appearances and the emergence of new signing Kai Havertz in the No.9 role, Jesus’s future at the club is now in question.

Once heralded as the future leader of Arsenal’s attack following his high-profile £45 million transfer from Manchester City, Jesus is now deemed surplus to requirements, according to reports from the Athletic. Arsenal’s hierarchy is open to considering substantial offers for the striker and intends to reinvest the funds in Arteta’s preferred targets.

In January, Arsenal were linked with a move for Brentford’s star striker Ivan Toney, who will be out of contract next summer. The 28-year-old Englishman’s physical prowess, goal-scoring ability, and penalty-taking skills have attracted interest from several Premier League clubs.

Another option under consideration is Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, who has been in sensational form, netting nine goals in nine games since March. The 24-year-old Swede has drawn comparisons to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and could be available as Newcastle seeks to comply with financial regulations.

RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, a 20-year-old Slovenian striker, has also emerged as a potential target. With 15 goals in 39 appearances this season, Sesko offers both promise for the future and immediate impact.

Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokores, formerly of Coventry City, is another name on Arsenal’s radar. The 23-year-old forward has been prolific for the Portuguese champions, with 40 goals and 14 assists in 46 games.

While these potential acquisitions are expected to come at a significant cost, Arteta is reportedly set to receive backing from the Kroenke family during the summer transfer window. The sale of Jesus would further bolster Arsenal’s already substantial budget, allowing the club to pursue its ambitious recruitment plans.
