Arsenal have set their sights on Everton’s 21-year old midfielder Amadou Onana ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Belgian midfielder was one of the options Arsenal explored in January, before choosing to sign Jorginho from Chelsea instead which has proved a brilliant bit of business from Edu and his team.

Amadou Onana has impressed during his first season in the Premier League, and it’s looking likely he will leave Goodison Park in the summe, especially if Sean Dyche can’t steer them away from relegation.

However, Everton won’t be letting the player leave cheaply. The Toffees have put a price tag of £70 million to allow the Belgian to leave the club this summer with Arsenal one of two Premier League clubs interested in his signature, according to Football Insider.

Mikel Arteta is a big admirer of the Belgian with Arsenal’s number one priority a central midfielder ahead of next season. Declan Rice remains the number one target, however the Gunners signing two central midfielders in the summer has not been ruled out with the possibility Onana could join the West Ham captain in North London.

So far this season, Amadou Onana has played 26 games in the Premier League, scoring once and assisting once, with an average rating of 6.97, according to FotMob. He has also featured for Belgium during the last international break and is quickly becoming a starter in a very strong Belgian side.
