Arsenal are expected to make significant moves in the summer transfer market, targeting reinforcements in four key positions to strengthen their squad.

According to Simon Collings of The Standard, Arsenal’s transfer plans include securing a top-quality forward and midfielder, along with bolstering their defensive lineup. Additionally, the Gunners are considering the acquisition of a goalkeeper, contingent upon the potential departure of Aaron Ramsdale from the club.

While Arsenal have been linked with potential goalkeeper signings, the necessity of such a move hinges on Ramsdale’s decision to stay or leave the club. Should Ramsdale remain, Arsenal’s goalkeeping position would likely not require further reinforcement.

However, the need for additions in other areas remains evident. Despite possessing a formidable frontline when fully fit, Arsenal lack a reliable alternative to Bukayo Saka, with injury concerns plaguing other members of the forward line.

Whether the focus turns to acquiring a striker or a winger, the objective remains consistent – to enhance squad depth and provide rotation options for key attacking positions.

Names like Pedro Neto and Nico Williams have been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium next season, but with the Wolves winger having a poor injury history, that could force Arsenal to look at other targets.

Similarly, in defence, Arsenal’s backline boasts strength but lacks sufficient backup options of the same calibre. The signings of versatile players such as Takehiro Tomiyasu, Jurrien Timber, and Jakub Kiwior offer flexibility, as they can operate at both full-back and centre-back positions, depending on the requirements of the team.

Midfield reinforcements will hinge on potential departures, particularly with uncertainties surrounding the futures of Jorginho and Thomas Partey. Regardless of their decisions, Arsenal is primed to plan for the future, anticipating the eventual transition from experienced midfielders to emerging talents in the seasons ahead.
