In the latest twist of transfer speculation, it has been revealed that a potential £120 million target for Arsenal engaged in discussions with a club chairman over the weekend, adding fuel to the ongoing rumour mill surrounding the Gunners’ summer plans.

As Arsenal maintains a fierce contention for the Premier League title, recent reports suggest they are eyeing strategic reinforcements, with hopes of capitalising on any potential missteps by front-runners Manchester City.

Following their narrow 1-0 victory over Manchester United, which propelled them to a slim one-point lead at the top of the league table, Arsenal’s focus seems to have shifted behind the scenes towards bolstering their squad for the challenges ahead.

The subject of much speculation is Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak who reportedly met with club chairman Yasir Al Rumayyan over the weekend. According to The Mirror, the meeting occurred amidst swirling rumours of a potential £120 million move to Arsenal.

Isak, who has been in scintillating form this season with 24 goals to his name, was spotted engaging in discussions with Al Rumayyan following Newcastle’s 1-1 draw with Brighton. Although details of the conversation remain undisclosed, the presence of Isak’s family suggests significant deliberations may have taken place.

Speculation surrounding Isak’s future has been rife, with Newcastle vehemently denying any intentions of parting ways with their prized asset. This stance aligns with the club’s broader strategy of retaining key players, including Anthony Gordon, amidst interest from other top clubs.

Despite Arsenal’s reported interest in Isak, it appears that the path to securing his services may not be straightforward. Newcastle’s reluctance to entertain offers coupled with the potential astronomical transfer fee could pose significant hurdles for the Gunners.

With Isak’s future hanging in the balance, Arsenal may need to explore alternative options. Names like Benjamin Sesko and Joshua Zirkzee have emerged as potential alternatives, suggesting that the Gunners are prepared to pivot their transfer strategy should negotiations with Newcastle prove futile.
