As the Premier League season reaches its climax, Arsenal are bracing for a transformative summer that could mark the beginning of a new era for the club, irrespective of their title fortunes under Mikel Arteta’s stewardship.

With key players expected to depart and new arrivals on the horizon, Arsenal are poised to make significant changes to strengthen their position among Europe’s elite. Despite currently leading the title race by a narrow margin, the Gunners face stiff competition from Manchester City, who are vying to secure an unprecedented fourth consecutive league crown.

Last summer’s marquee signing of Declan Rice from West Ham for £105 million has injected renewed vigour into Arsenal’s title challenge, positioning them as formidable contenders in the race for domestic glory. However, their immediate focus shifts to crucial fixtures against Europa League-chasing Manchester United and a resolute Everton side.

Amidst speculation surrounding potential departures, attention has turned to midfielder Thomas Partey, with reports suggesting Arsenal are open to offers for the Ghanaian international. Entering the final year of his contract and with a substantial weekly wage, Partey’s departure could alleviate financial burdens and facilitate squad restructuring.

Interest in Partey is reportedly high, with clubs from Saudi Arabia, as well as European giants Juventus and Barcelona, monitoring his situation closely. While Al-Ahli, Al-Hilal, and Al-Nassr have expressed interest, Juventus and Barcelona loom as potential destinations for the midfielder.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Partey’s future, Arteta remains focused on the immediate task at hand, emphasising the player’s importance to Arsenal’s ambitions. While acknowledging contractual considerations, Arteta reaffirms his satisfaction with Partey’s contributions and underlines the midfielder’s pivotal role in the team’s quest for success.

“He’d better have his head here, because we are playing for big things. That’s what we expect. We need him. He’s a top player and important for us, you could see the other day on the pitch the impact that he can have for us.” Asked about a new contract, Arteta added: “He’s our player, he’s got one more year’s contract and I’m really happy with him.”
