
Arsenal are looking to sign a winger this summer in order to provide competition for Bukayo Saka next season and the Gunners might have found the perfect player…
According to reports, Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign PSV attacker Xavi Simons ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Gunners now the most likely destination for the highly-rated youngster.
As a result, Simons’ future is now in doubt, with the youngster attracting the interest of several top European clubs.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal have shown interest in Simons over the last few months with the Gunners now planning a move for the Dutch international.
Mikel Arteta is looking to add some much needed quality in depth to his squad ahead of a return to the Champions League next season, with a back-up to Bukayo Saka one of the main priorities this summer.
According to Dutch outlet Voetbal International, Arsenal are the ‘most likely’ team to make a move for the PSV star, as it stands.
Interestingly, Simons is represented by English agents Stuart Peters and Darren Dein – the latter being the son of former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein, which has also given Arsenal an added advantage in the race for his signature.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for PSV youngster Xavi Simons this week, a player who has been brilliant in Holland this season. The 20-year-old has made 34 appearances for PSV this season, scoring 19 goals & recording 9 assists.
The Dutch winger is a player Arsenal know well after Simons played 80 minutes against the Gunners in the Europa League group stage earlier this season.

PSV legend, Van der Kerkhof suggested that Simons could be ‘better’ than Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo: “A really great talent. He might be better than Gakpo. He is growing more and more, especially in the league games.”
Simons joined PSV from PSG last summer and it’s fair to say that he’s made a huge impact in his first season of regular first-team football.
The versatile midfielder usually operates in a similar position to Martin Odegaard, however he can also play anywhere across the frontline and it’s well known Mikel Arteta loves a player who can play multiple positions in his system.
