Arsenal have set their sights on Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich who is considered “world-class” by the management of the club.

Kimmich, widely regarded as one of the best players globally, has captured the attention of Arsenal management. Despite being primarily a central midfielder, the German international has showcased his adaptability by excelling at right-back for Bayern Munich in recent matches. With his contract expiring in 2025, Kimmich could be available for a relatively modest fee of £25 million this summer.

While Bayern Munich have signaled reluctance to discuss any transfer until the end of the season, sources suggest that Arsenal’s interest in Kimmich is set to intensify post-season.

According to Football Transfers, the Gunners view the 29-year-old as a “concrete target” and a priority for their summer recruitment plans, particularly given their limited activity in the January transfer window due to Financial Fair Play constraints.

Kimmich’s track record speaks volumes about his quality and experience. With 379 competitive appearances for Bayern Munich and 84 caps for the German national team, he brings a wealth of expertise to any squad. Notably, he has won numerous titles, including the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and eight Bundesliga championships.

Kimmich has received praises for his talent and intelligent reading of the game he is capable of excelling in multiple positions. Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho calls him a top player. “I see him as a top right-back, left-back, centre-back, No.6, No.8, No.10… he has qualities to be anything.

“He’s intelligent and understands what he has to do here and what he has to do there. I think he’s phenomenal – absolutely phenomenal player.”

Pep Guardiola, on the other hand, has commended Kimmich’s defensive prowess, labeling him as one of the best centre-backs in the world.
