Arsenal are in the market for players to provide quality in depth this summer and one position their looking to strengthen is full-back ahead of next season.

The Gunners have previously been linked with a move for Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey, however it doesn’t appear he is the number target for the right-back position this summer.

It now appears Arsenal have turned their attention elsewhere with German newspaper BILD stating that Arsenal have made a ‘lucrative offer’ to Ivan Fresneda in a bid to beat competition from German side Borussia Dortmund in their pursuit of the player.

Following the confirmation of Real Valladolid’s relegation from La Liga, Ivan Fresneda’s release clause has now reduced from £40million to £20million. Fabrizio Romano has also revealed that the player could still leave for even less than his release clause this summer with Arsenal showing serious interest in the Spaniard.

Fresneda has been linked with Arsenal since the January transfer window when it was reported that Arsenal were going to pay the release clause to sign the youngster from Real Valladolid. However, the signing didn’t materialise and Fresneda stayed in Spain with the La Liga club.
