With the news that Mohamed Elneny could potentially be out for the rest of the season & Thomas Partey needing an MRI scan after injuring his ribs in the defeat to Manchester City yesterday, Arsenal are desperate for a defensive midfielder before the January window closes in four days time.
Arsenal had a £60m offer for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo rejected yesterday, however with the player fighting to leave this month, Arsenal aren’t given up on bringing the player in.
The player has handed in a transfer request & as per Fabrizio Romano’s tweet below, Moses Caicedo didn’t turn up for Brighton training today & could potentially miss tomorrow’s game.

Chelsea had a £55m verbal offer rejected earlier this month as Brighton are hoping to keep hold of the midfielder. However, Arsenal are now pushing for his signature and it seems that negotiations have entered a key stage for Caicedo’s future.
Moises Caicedo has been a revelation since breaking into the Brighton first team and his reputation has been enhanced further this season.
After Brighton sold Yves Bissouma to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, Caicedo has become the lynchpin of a Brighton team fighting for a European place in the league this season.
His strong performances have also been matched at the international stage, where Caicedo was a key member of the Ecuador team that performed so well at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in December and were unlucky to not make it out of their group.
Arsenal have not been the only club linked to Caicedo this month. Even before the transfer window opened, there were reports based on news from within the Ecuadorian press that Liverpool were in talks with the midfielder.
However, it now seems that Arsenal are in the drivers seat when it comes to getting Caicedo’s signature over the line.
