Arsenal are interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Djibril Sow this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his midfield options ahead of Champions League football next season.

The Gunners have established contact with the 26-year-old, whose contract will expire in the summer of 2024 for a fee in the region of £13 million.

Sow has reportedly told Frankfurt he does not intend to extend his stay beyond 2024 and is looking for alternatives away from Germany.

The Swedish international joined Eintracht Frankfurt in July 2019 from Young Boys for a reported €10 million, having previously played for Borussia Monchengladbach and FC Zurich in his career.

He averages 37 matches per season at the Waldstadion and has already made 38 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring three times.

Arsenal are one of several teams in negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt for the midfielder, with Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest also reportedly interested in the player.

Djibril Sow is a fan of Arsenal star Granit Xhaka, with whom he started all four games for Switzerland at the World Cup in Qatar.

Arsenal are still interested in Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moisés Caicedo and Everton’s Amadou Onana. The two Premier League players are expensive options and Arsenal are willing to explore Sow who will be relatively cheaper.
