Chelsea youngster, Omari Hutchinson left Arsenal 12 months ago after rejecting multiple contract offers to stay at the Emirates Stadium.
The 19-year-old rejected multiple contract offers at Arsenal before accepting a significant higher deal with London rivals Chelsea. However finances weren’t said to be at the heart of the move, with more first-team opportunities offered in his preferred positions the key.
Omari Hutchinson has only made two appearances for Chelsea’s first-team since joining the club 12 months ago, with a combined total of 49 minutes. It seems what he was promised in terms of first-team opportunities haven’t exactly been forthcoming so far.

The player was also left out of the traveling squad for Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the US this week, where as 18-year-old Amario Cozier-Duberry has travelled with Arsenal on theirs. I think it’s safe to say Omari Hutchinson could very well be regretting his decision to move to West London last year.
After a lack of first-team opportunities at Chelsea, Omari Hutchinson is now close to joining Ipswich Town on loan for the 2023/24 campaign in seek of more regular game time.
By no means is his career at Chelsea finished yet, but he needs to start playing regular top-flight football soon if he is to make it at one of the biggest clubs in the country.
Who knows what could have been if Omari Hutchinson decided to stay at Arsenal 12 months ago with Mikel Arteta’s side thriving, instead of joining Chelsea where he has already played under three different managers.
