According to many reports coming out today, Granit Xhaka is ready to leave North London this summer and is expected to leave Arsenal ahead of next season.
Granit Xhaka remains the last player of the Arsene Wenger era, however that looks to be coming to an end now after the Swiss has told Mikel Arteta he’s ready for a new challenge next season.
The 30-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of next season with Arsenal ready to sell the player this summer in order receive a decent fee, which is expected to be in the region of £15million.
The way Granit Xhaka has turned his Arsenal career around is nothing short of remarkable after he was booed off the pitch in 2019 against Crystal Palace. The midfielder recently thanked Mikel Arteta for giving him another chance in North London…
“There was one guy, his name is Mikel Arteta. I will always support him, it doesn’t matter what happens. Without him, I am 100 per cent sure I would not be in the club anymore.”

“He knows that, I have a very good and honest relationship with him. It doesn’t matter what happens on the pitch, I will never ever be against him or say something against him.”
“He deserves my respect, but the respect from my family as well. I was gone. I did not want to wear the shirt anymore. He gave me the feeling to do it again.”
Bayer Leverkusen are currently the frontrunners to sign Granit Xhaka, who has 14 goal contributions for Arsenal in all competitions this season. It’s his best season in an Arsenal shirt by some distance, which will help the Gunners get a decent fee for the player, despite only having one year left on his contract.
Before Xhaka moved to England he was at Borussia Mönchengladbach in Germany and now he’s keen to return to the Bundesliga ahead of next season. The Swiss spent four years at Gladbach before joing Arsenal.
With Granit Xhaka set to leave the club this summer, Arsenal want to sign at least two central midfielders with Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo at the top of their shortlist.
