As the transfer window winds down, Arsenal locks its eyes on a young promising midfielder.
After Elneny’s injury, being out for an extended period of time and lacking depth, Arsenal shifted its eyes to the Portuguese League. Ibrahima Bamba is a young blossoming star. Only 20 years old, Bamba plays for Vitória Guimarães SC. Bamba is a defensive midfielder and would help transition the ball to the attacking midfielders out of the defensive third. Bamba has 16 appearances and 15 starts for the Portuguese side.
The 20-year-old Italian midfielder is great at slipping back into a center-back and playing between the shoulders. The midfielder has a 27 million release clause, but the London side may be trying to shoot for a lower price. Labeled as a promising young talent, Arsenal tries to add more depth and young firepower.
Bamba’s agent was spotted in London, and Arsenal’s interest has ‘ramped up’ for the promising Italian.

Bamba has 0 goals and 0 assists; however, he is known for his defensive stats and for usually sliding into the center-back position. Per fbref, Bamba vs. midfielders in the last 365 days are amazing on the defensive side. Bamba ranks in the 99th percentile in clearances, 90th in tackles, 85th in interceptions, and 79th in blocks. He fits as a great sub and player for the Arsenal side. Bamba’s only knock would be his discipline. The aggressive playstyle of Bamba has led to 7 yellow cards in the league. Arteta and the Arsenal staff will try and fix this issue if they sign him.
