Arsenal look to seal a deal for a third signing in quick succession after news broke out about Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwoir. Ivan Fresneda is the man, who is a Spanish right-back playing in La Liga for Real Valladolid.

In the past, the 18-year-old defender had links from Real Madrid, but in recent days the Spanish giants have placed doubts over the possible signing, allowing Arsenal to take control of the situation. Newcastle United is another team interested in the full-back but have also failed to get a deal over the line.

The news of Arsenal making this signing means Fulham signing Cedric Soares seems to be materialising, allowing space for Fresneda in the team.

EIDes Marque recently confirmed that:

‘Arsenal have taken advantage of Real Madrid’s uncertainty and has practically closed a deal for Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda. Mikel Arteta personally convinced the player to join and he will fly to London in the coming days.’

Ivan Fresneda’s release clause is said to be around €18m for the 18-year-old.

If Arsenal can get the deal over the line it will make it a third signing under €30m this week. This would take Arsenal’s spending this month to around £70m. It looks like missing out on Mudryk could be a blessing in disguise for Mikel Arteta as he continues to improve his sides depth for the second-half of the season.

The Spanish U-19 international is seen as one of the biggest young talents in the La Liga, making eight appearances in total so far this season.
