This weekend Arsenal reportedly sent scouts across Europe to get a better look at 19-year-old Red Bull Salzburg talent Oscar Gloukh. The teenager, who is currently making waves with the Austrian Bundesliga league leaders, is attracting interest from some of the best clubs around Europe.

Oscar Gloukh first grabbed people’s attention during the U19 European Championships in the summer of 2022. The midfielder recorded three goals and two assists during Israel’s surprising run to the final and he was also named in the Team of the Tournament.

This season the 19-year-old has scored four goals and registered four assists for Red Bull Salzburg, after making the move from boyhood club Maccabi Tel Aviv in January 2023. The Israel international moved to Austria for £6million, with his value continuing to grow ever since.

Barcelona did reportedly make an attempt to hijack the move for Gloukh, however were unsuccessful with the player already set on a move to Austria.

This season Oscar Gloukh took his ability to the European stage, with the 19-year-old scoring goals against Inter Milan and Benfica in the Champions League. This has lead to many clubs around Europe now keeping a close eye on the young playmaker.

According to FootballTransfers, Arsenal are leading the race to sign Oscar Gloukh with the Gunners recently sending scouts to watch Salzburg’s showdown with Blau Weiss Linz.

Oscar Gloukh didn’t register any goal contributions during the game, however he did create five chances and complete five dribbles, which will have no doubt impressed the Arsenal scouts.

The 19-year-old is a versatile midfielder who mainly operates in a similar position to Martin Odegaard. However he can play a little deeper as well as from the left. Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of players who are comfortable in a number of positions, so it’s no surprise Arsenal are scouting Oscar Gloukh ahead of next summer.
