According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal may set their sights on securing Wolverhampton Wanderers’ winger Pedro Neto in the summer. The Gunners have long sought a right-winger to bolster support for Bukayo Saka, yet despite their interest in various options, they haven’t made any moves as of yet.

Although Arsenal previously expressed interest in Neto, they didn’t formalise their pursuit. However, speaking to Caught Offside, Romano highlighted Arsenal’s continued admiration for the Portuguese player and their eagerness to secure his services.

He noted that while a January acquisition seems improbable, Mikel Arteta’s side could target Neto in the upcoming summer, considering him an “underrated” and potentially “perfect” addition to the North London squad.

Nevertheless, Romano cautioned that Arsenal might encounter competition from other European clubs vying for Neto’s signature.

He emphasised Neto’s quality, citing the player’s impressive performance for Wolves this season, where he notched up seven assists and a goal in ten league starts before succumbing to a hamstring injury.

Recognised for his talent and potential as a forward, Neto presents an enticing prospect for Arsenal. However, his injury history raises cautionary flags, prompting the club to approach any potential move prudently.

“Arsenal are being linked again with Pedro Neto, and it’s hardly surprising after his fine form for Wolves, while it’s also clear the Gunners are not quite clicking in attack at the moment.

“Still, I think this is a difficult one for January, so it could be one for the summer. Neto was already on Arsenal’s radar years ago, he’s always been appreciated but there are also other clubs interested, so nothing is guaranteed.

“Personally, I think Neto is a very, very good player, underrated at some points. He’d be a perfect fit for Arsenal, in my view. Let’s see how the situation will evolve in the next few months.”

Given Neto’s abilities and potential, acquiring him could prove a significant coup for Arsenal. Nonetheless, his injury record implies the need for a careful assessment before initiating any transfer dealings.

Romano stressed the player’s value and potential fit within Arsenal’s setup, acknowledging the evolving nature of the situation in the coming months.
