It was reported earlier today by Chris Wheatley that Crystal Palace are currently in talks with Arsenal over the possibility of signing Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan for the remainder of the season.
Palace manager and Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira likes the player and wants him in his squad.
It has been reported by Daily Mirror Journalist, Alan Nixon, that Arsenal previously rejected a permanent transfer proposal and a loan proposal from Ligue 1 side, AS Monaco earlier this month. A possible reason for this could’ve been the lack of options to replace Thomas Partey in midfield but now that Jorginho is signing for Arsenal, as confirmed by multiple sources, the club may be willing to let Lokonga leave on loan.
Lokonga joined Arsenal at the start of last season and still has three-and-a-half-years left on his contract with Arsenal. He had performed well for a while but then more recently had a string of poor performances and seemed to lack a lot of confidence on the pitch.
A loan move to a Premier League side looks to be the perfect way for the Belgian to regain his confidence.
Sambi Lokonga has completed his loan move to Crystal Palace, after successfully undergoing his medial earlier today. The deal is now done and sealed. The announcement awaits.
