The quest to bolster the squad ahead of next season has already gone far for Arsenal with the Gunners eyeing several potential targets to strengthen their frontline.

While Kai Havertz’s recent form has alleviated some pressure, the club remains keen on securing a natural number nine ahead of the upcoming season. Academy graduate Eddie Nketiah is expected to move on from the club at the end of the season, while Gabriel Jesus is seen as an option in either of the front three positions.

Amid speculation surrounding various strikers, including Dusan Vlahovic, Viktor Gyokeres, and Ivan Toney, the name of Joshua Zirkzee has emerged as a prominent candidate drawing significant interest from Arsenal.

Zirkzee’s impressive performances under manager Thiago Motta have caught the attention of Arsenal scouts, with the 20-year-old tallying 12 goals and four assists this season. Despite Bayern Munich holding a buy-back option, Zirkzee is reportedly not inclined to return to Germany, paving the way for potential suitors like Arsenal.

While Arsenal appreciate Zirkzee’s talent, they face stiff competition for his signature, with AC Milan and Juventus also expressing interest in securing the young striker’s services. Bologna is rumoured to demand around £50 million for Zirkzee, signaling a potential hefty investment for Arsenal should they pursue the deal.

Zirkzee’s playing style has drawn comparisons to Arsenal legend such as Dennis Bergkamp, further igniting excitement among fans. Former Italy international Francesco Graziani praised Zirkzee’s technical awareness, likening him to the Dutch maestro known for his sublime technique.

“Technically he is very good and has shown that he sees the goal. In Zirkzee I seem to see the Dutch Dennis Bergkamp: someone who made your eyes shine with his technique.”
