Arsenal have been linked with a number of players so far during the January transfer window, with Mikel Arteta determined to do business this month despite the lack of funds currently available to him.
Arsenal spent over £200million in the summer on four new signings which means they need to sell before they buy this month in order to stay in line with FFP. The club are in the market for a player who can improve the squad at a relatively cheap price and Galatasaray full-back Sacha Boey could present the Gunners with an opportunity.
Mikel Arteta is keen to bring in a defender before the end of the month following the recent injury crisis his side have had to go through this season at the back. One player the North London club have been heavily linked to over the past few months is 23-year-old right back Sacha Boey.
Reports in Turkey claimed last summer that Arsenal submitted a bid for Boey of around £18million which was eventually rejected. However according to reports, the Gunners are looking at the French international again.
According to Spanish outlet AS, Arsenal are one of many teams interested in signing the Galatasaray right back this month, however no bids have been submitted yet. The Turkish side are looking for around £21.5million which represents a great deal if the Gunners decide to act on their interest before the end of the window.
Sacha Boey is said to be ready for a new challenge as he wants to be playing in Europe with Euro 2024 just around the corner. The 23-year-old can operate on either side of the defence, similar to Jurrien Timber which is one of the main reasons Mikel Arteta is such a huge fan of the player.
Last year, former Arsenal star Bacary Sagna described Sacha Boey as an ‘amazing’ footballer and urged the Gunners to sign him.
